Tailbone (Coccyx) Pain Condition
Coccydynia is the formal term used to describe pain emanating from the coccyx, or tailbone. The coccyx is the fifth and final region of the spine. It helps form the posterior of the pelvis. The most common form of coccyx pain is caused by direct impact trauma, such as a fall. Pain may also be caused by repetitive stress activities, childbirth, infections, or tumors.
